Spring Your 2017 Ford Super Duty into Action!

Hellwig Products, an industry-leading manufacturer of towing, hauling and performance suspension products, has released its new aftermarket air spring suspension system for the 2017 line of Ford Super Duty trucks. The Big Wig’s 2,800lb springs allow Super Duty owners to tow and haul heavy loads with improved safety, stability and comfort by maintaining a level ride height, improving overall drive control.

The all-new 2017 Ford Super Duty series is one of the hottest trucks on the market, thanks to its formidable and capable Power Stroke® V8 turbo diesel engine, and new look. While these new trucks may be rated to tow and haul the heaviest loads of any Super Duty to date, the weight of a heavy trailer or load in the bed will still cause these trucks to ride low in the rear, impacting driver control and safety. Thanks to Hellwig, Super Duty owners will be able to properly level their vehicle and restore it to a proper ride height, not only improving the truck’s appearance but also its safety by transferring weight back on the front tires for better braking, steering, and more even wear.

The Big Wig Air Springs are available for F250 and F350 two-wheel drive trucks with single rear wheels (Part #6116), and four wheel drive with up to a 2” lift (Part # 6117) and with a 2-4” rear lift (Part #6119). Kits are also available for the F350 and F450 four wheel drive and dually trucks with a stock ride height (Part #6112). The kit features a 2,800lb air spring for each side and heavy duty bulletproof brackets engineered to withstand the most demanding loads. Here is a review of the Big Wig from the SEMA Show:

The air springs are 3” larger in diameter and up to 3” taller than those used by many other manufacturers. These larger springs require less air pressure for the same load, resulting in a softer spring rate, a more compliant ride, and increase level load carrying capacity up to the manufacturer’s GVWR.

Hellwig’s bolt-on air springs allow for quick adjustments in air pressure to match the load and can even be configured independently to level out uneven loads. When paired with the optional compressor and tank mount (Part #4803) the air pressure can be adjusted on the fly, allowing for quick load corrections without service station assistance.
The Hellwig Air Springs can be installed easily with simple hand tools and includes all necessary parts. Similarly, the optional compressor and tank mount include all necessary parts and hardware. Hellwig air springs come with a limited lifetime warranty.
